LONDON (Reuters) - Britain's Queen Elizabeth granted royal assent to Prime Minister Theresa May's flagship Brexit legislation on Tuesday, ending months of debate over the legislation that will formally end the country's European Union membership.

British Prime Minister Theresa May has not yet set a date for the next stage in the passage of legislation to sever ties with the European Union, her spokesman said on Wednesday after the BBC reported it would not be until November, later than many had expected, reported Reuters. 

Prime Minister Theresa May has warned lawmakers that Britain could be faced with a Brexit "cliff edge" if they failed to back her EU repeal bill, as reports suggested momentum was growing within her party to unseat her.

British citizens will no longer be able to sue the Government for breaking the law after Brexit, under far-reaching new plans being drawn up in Whitehall, according to the Independent.
