Slovenians still optimistic about EU, survey shows
Brussels – Slovenians’ positive attitude towards the EU remains above the EU average in a survey presented by the European Parliament on Friday. The share of respondents in all members with a positive opinion about the bloc has increased by 10 percentage points to 50%, while in Slovenia the figure was at 58% in autumn, when the survey was conducted.

UK lower chamber passes EU withdrawal bill
The U.K. House of Commons on Jan. 9 approved the EU Withdrawal Bill after its final reading, paving the way for full legislation.
The bill based on Prime Minister Boris Johnson's revised deal was passed by MPs in a 330 to 231 votes with a majority of 99.
It is expected to complete the House of Lords stages without major disagreements and to wait for Royal assent to become law.

Germany Warns of Migrant Wave Similar as in 2015
Today, Germany has warned of a recurrence of the chaotic influx of migrants, which caught the EU unprepared in 2015. Meanwhile, Greece and Cyprus are alarming for more and more migrants which are coming from neighbouring Turkey, BNR reported, citing Reuters.

Greeks are the Europeans with the least trust in the European Union and the United States compared with their continental peers, according to a poll conducted by YouGov in 14 countries, on behalf of the think tank European Council on Foreign Relations.

Democracy Digest: Faith in the EU and Selective Memory
Overall, 55 per cent of respondents say they are satisfied with the way democracy works in the EU, the highest level since 2004. That is the majority view in all but one member state: Greece. (Others nations on the gloomy end of the spectrum include France and, you guessed it, Britain.)
