Amazon, SpaceX heat up race to dominate satellite internet

Though satellite internet has existed for years, the competition is about to rapidly intensify, with companies planning to launch thousands of their own systems into low Earth orbit.

The latest move in the industry came on April 5 from Amazon, which took a major step towards getting its $10 billion Kuiper constellation off the ground by sealing deals with three rocket companies.

Bulgaria's Vivacom Partners with Stream Television Company

Bulgaria's Vivacom has entered into an agreement with Stream Television Company to deliver its international feed for pay-TV platforms across Europe and the CIS.

As a result, Vivacom, the largest telco in Bulgaria operating one of Europe's few Tier 3 certified teleports in Europe, will distribute the international version of the hunting and fishing channel Rybalka I Okhota.

Bulgaria's NURTS to Partner with Eutelsat to Broadcast BNT World in Europe

Bulgarian satellite services provider NURTS has concluded a partnership deal with Eutelsat Communications to help Bulgarian public television BNT broadcast its cultural and news channel to Europe.

Eutelsat will use the Eutelsat 7B satellite to broadcast BNT World over Europe, NURTS said in a statement on its website on Tuesday.

Greece's OTE picks Eutelsat KA-SAT for broadband service

OTE telecom has selected the Eutelsat KA-SAT to deliver new satellite broadband service to homes across Greece.

The satellite broadband service will be delivered alongside OTE’s TV platform broadcast from the Eutelsat 9A satellite.

The broadband service and the TV platform will share the same orbital position as KA-SAT.
