Special offers on food lead to more household waste
Special offers on food items have led to an increase in the amount of waste produced by households as consumers purchase more than what they need, according to research conducted by the Agriculture Department of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
More specifically, 72% of consumers buy more food than necessary as they are lured by offers.
Minced chicken, bamboo kids' dinner set withdrawn
The Hellenic Food Authority (EFET) on Friday ordered the withdrawal of minced chicken by the Arta brand trading under the name Kimas Kotopoulo Ellinikos Nopos after tests on a sample of the product revealed traces of salmonella.

Recall ordered for Altura Seafood's tinned mackerel
The Hellenic Food Authority (EFET) has announced a recall of tinned mackerel in tomato sauce sold under the Altura Seafood trademark due to unsafe levels of histamine.
According to EFET, cans produced on 12/11/2016 with an expiration date of 12/11/2019 should be discarded and not consumed.
