(CNN) - The world's first successful total penis and scrotum transplant was completed at Johns Hopkins Hospital on March 26, according to a news release issued Monday.

Turkey ranks the world's first for the number of hair transplant operations carried out, amid rapidly rising demand from Arab citizens from Gulf countries.

A senior official from the Health Ministry, Ömer Tontu?, said over 200 hair transplant operations were carried out daily in Turkey, mainly on foreign patients.

Turkey’s sixth face transplant patient died July 3 due to respiratory failure after an operation on removing facial soft tissue, Turkey’s Akdeniz University Hospital officials said.

Turkey’s sixth patient who underwent a face transplant in Akdeniz University hospital on June 16 was removed during the operation largely due to organ failure.
