5 Companies Confirmed their Offers for Belene NPP
All 5 companies from the shortlist of approved strategic investors for Belene NPP have confirmed their offers. The deadline was January 31st. The shortlisted companies are the China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC), Atomenergoprom AD which is part of Rosatom, Korea Hydro-Nuclear Power, Framatome SAS - France and General Electric - USA.

Serbia and Russia to build nuclear research center

Turkey grants Rosatom construction license for first unit of Akkuyu nuclear plant
Turkey's TAEK atomic energy authority on April 2 granted Russian builder Rosatom a construction license to start work on the first unit of the Akkuyu nuclear power plant, the state-run Anadolu news agency said.
Russia will Build the First Nuclear Power Plant in Egypt
Egypt and Russia signed a contract to build the first nuclear power plant in the North African country. This happened during a visit to the Russian side of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The NPP's construction contract was signed at a ceremony on state television, attended by Vladimir Putin and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Saeed Hussein Khalil el-Sisi, AFP reported.

Russian Company Ready to Invest in Belene NPP
The Russian company Rosatom is open to the possibility to participate in the financing of the Belene NPP if the project is resumed. This was announced by Vadim Titov, who is the director of Rosatom International Network for Central Europe. He participated in a conference dedicated to nuclear energy in Bulgaria.

Saudi, Hungary sign nuclear pact
Oil giant Saudi Arabia, which is trying to diversify its energy sources, signed an agreement on Oct. 19 with Hungary to cooperate in the peaceful use of atomic energy.
It is the latest pact of its kind signed by the world's largest oil exporter, which earlier this year reached similar agreements with Russia and South Korea.
