Climate activists turn Rome’s Trevi Fountain black

Climate activists in Italy turned Rome's famous Trevi Fountain black on May 21, saying floods that have killed 14 people in the country's northeast were "a warning."

Activists from the anti-climate change organization Last Generation climbed into the landmark fountain and poured a vegetable-based carbon liquid into it, before being pulled out and escorted away by police.

Italian Film Tribute | Athens | To June 8

The Aliki Theater pays tribute to Cinecitta through June 8 with a showcase of films by some of the top directors who worked at Italy's legendary production studio. On May 29 and 30, it will be showing Federico Fellini's "8 ½" at 7 p.m. and "Roma" at 9.30 p.m. On May 31 and June 1, the screenings are also Fellini classics: "La Strada" at 7 p.m. and "Le Notti di Cabiria" at 9.30 p.m.

French media faces trial for publication of Kate Middleton topless photos (PHOTOS)

Six Media representatives will go on trial today over the publication of long-lens photographs of Prince William’s wife Kate sunbathing topless in France that caused a scandal in Britain.

The case relates to photos printed in the glossy French magazine Closer and regional daily La Provence in September 2012.

Legendary Swedish actress Anita Ekberg, immortalised by her performance in Federico Fellini's 1960 film "La Dolce Vita", died Jan. 11 near Rome, media reports said. She was 83.
      
The voluptuous film star, a longtime resident of Italy, died in a hospital outside the Italian capital, according to the website of the daily La Repubblica.
