Parliament speaker Numan Kurtulmuş has maintained his outreach efforts to garner support for the long-pending proposal for a new constitution, meeting with officials from Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party), İYİ (Good) Party and Felicity Party (SP).

Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş has called for an extraordinary meeting to convene the General Assembly of the parliament on Aug. 8, in response to the opposition's request regarding the controversial deforestation of woodlands in western Türkiye for mining purposes.

The Felicity Party and the Future Party have agreed to form a joint group in the Turkish parliament.

The new group, represented under the umbrella of the Felicity Party, will be led by Selçuk Özdağ, the Muğla deputy of the Future Party. According to the agreement, each party will have a representative as the group's vice-chair.
