Sir John Boardman, the eminent British classical archaeologist and art historian, often hailed as "Britain's most distinguished historian of ancient Greek art," has passed away at the age of 96.
Costas Simitis to receive honorary fellowship from LSE
Greece's former socialist prime minister Costas Simitis will be awarded an Honorary Fellowship by the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) at a ceremony on 8 December in Athens, the university announced.
"The former Prime Minister of Greece and LSE alumnus will be recognised for his exemplary contributions to society," LSE said in a press release on Thursday.
Istanbul Bilgi University to host archaeology professor
CAMMA "Thursday Talks," organized by Istanbul Bilgi University Cultural Management Master Program (CAMMA) and Cultural Policy and Management Research Center (KPY), will host Professor Ian Hodder, the former director of the Çatalhöyük Research Project and a pioneer of post-processualism theory in archaeology, on June 2.
New neighborhood found in Çatalhöyük
Ali Umut Türkcan, associate professor from Anadolu University and the head of the Çatalhöyük Neolithic site excavations, has said that they have discovered a street in the newly excavated area at the ancient site, uncovering a second neighborhood.
