Pence Praises Montenegro For 'Courage' In 'Face Of Russian Pressure'

US Vice President Mike Pence praised Montenegrin leaders on August 1 for standing up to "Russian pressure" on his final stop of an Eastern European tour aimed at reassuring US allies in the region.

Pence arrived in the tiny Balkan nation, NATO's newest member, after a visit to Georgia, where he slammed Russia's "occupation" of the Caucasus nation's territory.

Presidents of Bulgaria and Montenegro Talked About Opportunities For Better Transport and Energy Conncectivity

Bulgarian President  Rumen Radev has pointed out that, unfortunately, the two countries can not fully develop economic contacts due to the lack of adequate transport, energy and digital connectivity.

Bulgarian President to Visit Montenegro and Italy

Bulgarian President Rumen Radev is to pay an official visit to Montenegro at the invitation of the President of Montenegro Filip Vujanovic, reported BGNES.

Radev and Vujanovic will meet tete a tete in the city of Podgorica.

Later the Bulgarian delegation will meet the Montenegro delegation to hold plenary talks.

Montenegro Opposition to Boycott Poll Over 'Coup' Claims

The opposition announced its boycott ahead of a parliamentary session on Wednesday at which Montenegrin lawmakers are expected to vote on a motion to strip two opposition leaders of their immunity from prosecution over their alleged involvement in a coup attempt on election day, October 16.

"Insulting to describe Montenegro as NATO and EU toy"

Montenegrin President Filip Vujanovic says his Serbian counterpart's qualification of Montenegro as "a toy in the hands of NATO and EU" was "insulting."

Speaking on Sunday in the town of Bijelo Polje, northern Montenegro, Vujanovic said he "can't wait to have a good chat with (Tomislav) Nikolic" and "see what spurred him" to offer such an appraisal.

Montenegro, Bosnia to Sign Border Agreement

Montenegrin President Filip Vujanovic on Sunday said Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina will be the first ex-Yugoslav republics to sign a border demarcation agreement.

After meeting the President of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dragan Covic, in the town of Tivat, Vujanovic said the agreement would be signed  by the end of August in Vienna.

Bulgaria's PM, Montenegro's President Discuss Opportunities for Power Exports to Italy

Prime Minister Boyko Borisov has suggested at a meeting with Montenegro's President Filip Vujanovic that Bulgaria may use a high-voltage link between Montenegro and Italy, which is yet to be completed, in order to export electricity to Italy.

Borisov and Vujanovic met Friday at the Council of Ministers building in Sofia, according to the press office of the Bulgarian government.
