Bulgaria's Industry Grows for Third Consecutive Month
Bulgaria's industrial production has seen growth for the third consecutive month, with a reported increase of 0.8% in August compared to July, following minimal gains of 0.1% in June and 0.6% in July, as per data released by the European Statistical Office.
Bulgaria Leads EU in Producer Price Growth for July 2024
In July 2024, producer prices in the EU and the euro area saw an increase of 0.8% compared to June 2024, according to preliminary data from Eurostat. This follows a 0.6% rise in both regions during June 2024. Bulgaria reported the highest growth in producer prices within the EU, with an increase of 3.6% on a monthly basis.
Price increases change consumer habits, limit spending to basics, report says
Price increases have changed consumer habits in Greece, a survey by the Retail Consumer Goods Research Institute (IELKA) said on Thursday.
The survey, conducted on a sample of 1,000 consumers in November 2023, showed a clear trend by consumers to save money to buy basic goods and services. More specifically, the pressure is bigger on reducing spending on basic services.
Greece industry output higher, while Eurozone output drops in October
Eurozone industrial production declined by more than expected in October, with the sharpest drop for capital goods such as machinery, reinforcing survey indications that the single-currency area is in a recession.
Capacity usage slightly rises in July
The capacity utilization rate (CUR) in the manufacturing sector increased mildly from 76.8 percent in June to 77.1 percent in July, the data from the Central Bank have shown.
On a seasonally adjusted basis, the CUR climbed from 76.6 percent to 76.9 percent.

Turnover in industry up 23.9pct in Jan-Aug 2021
Turnover in industry increased by 23.9% in January-August 2021, by 23.9% more than in the same period last year, according to a press release of the National Institute of Statistics sent to AGERPRES on Tuesday. This is mainly due to the growth recorded in the manufacturing industry (+ 24.2%) and the extractive industry (+ 13.9%).
