First Lady Emine Erdoğan has invited her French counterpart Brigitte Macron to Turkey, presidential sources said on Jan. 12.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has slammed the mosque attack in Egypt that left 305 people dead, saying that the attackers “have no relation with Islam."

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan visited the tombs of three former leaders on April 17, one day after Turkey voted in favor of shifting to an executive presidential system in a constitutional referendum. 

Erdoğan visited the tombs of former president Turgut Özal and former prime ministers Necmettin Erbakan and Adnan Menderes in Istanbul. 

In a press conference before taking off for Pakistan on Nov. 16, Turkish President Tayyip Erdoğan said he was for a system where the president could keep his (or her) position as the leader - or at least as a member of his or her party.

Problems between the president and the prime minister are at their lowest point in Turkey's modern history, Prime Minister Ahmet Davuto?lu has claimed, amid renewed debate on the government's desired shift to a presidential administrative system from the current parliamentary one. 

A prominent Turkish journalist has been sacked over a social media post on the grounds that he anonymously criticized Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdo?an over the July 20 Suruç bombing.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdo?an and former President Abdullah Gül held a surprise meeting in parliament on June 19, the first such meeting since the June 7 general election.

Erdo?an and Gül met in the office of Parliament Speaker Cemil Çiçek for around an hour.

President Recep Tayyip Erdo?an has made an unscheduled visit to former President Süleyman Demirel to offer condolences for the death of his brother.

This was also the first meeting between the two politicians since Erdo?an was elected president last August.
