Flash flood warning

Parts of the Los Angeles area are forecast to receive nearly half a year's worth of rain by Tuesday.
More than 900,000 electricity customers in California faced outages as an intense storm swept the state with heavy rain and high winds.

Hong Kong was flooded by the heaviest rainfall in nearly 140 years on Friday, leaving the city's streets and some subway stations under water and forcing its schools to close.

Just across the border, authorities in China's tech hub Shenzhen recorded the heaviest rains since records began in 1952.

The most flights were canceled in New Jersey, where about 30 percent of all scheduled flights were delayed, and passengers who managed to land waited for their luggage for more than two hours, while many passengers lost their luggage, the New York Post reports.
331 flights were canceled at JFK airport, and 281 at La Guardia.

Heavy rain spawned extreme flooding in New York's Hudson Valley that killed at least one person, swamped roadways and forced road closures on Sunday night, as much of the rest of the Northeast U.S. began bracing for potentially punishing rains.

The Turkish State Meteorological Service has issued a warning for heavy rains expected in the metropolis of Istanbul and 21 provinces on July 9. Following the warning, heavy rainfall has started to take affect in Istanbul and other provinces at midnight. 

BELGRADE - There is no danger of flooding alongside big rivers in Serbia, and help is on the way for communities in eastern Serbia affected by flash floods, said Predrag Maric, Head of the Interior Ministry's (MUP) Emergency Situations Sector.
