EC grants 16.2 mln euros to Greece and Bulgaria after natural disasters
The Commission decided to grant aid worth €16.2 million from the EU Solidarity Fund to Greece and Bulgaria following natural disasters that occurred in the winter of 2015. Greece suffered from wide-spread flooding affecting five of its regions, while considerable damage was caused in Bulgaria due to severe winter conditions.
Disabled woman dies in Turkey's northwest flood
A disabled woman died after being carried away in a flood that took over the northwestern province of Sakarya on June 23.
Heavy rain took over Sakarya at noon, during which the Karadere creek in the Serdivan district flooded and led to the death of 38-year-old Gülderen Alt?nbudak.

More flooding in Texas after storms, death toll hits 23

A strong earthquake with a magnitude of 6.8 hit Taiwan's eastern coast on April 20, the U.S. Geological Survey said, shaking offices in the capital, Taipei.
The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center said there was no threat of a tsunami after the quake, which had been measured at 6.3 by Taiwan's Central Weather Bureau.
