Bulgaria: Flu Epidemic has been announced in the Lovech, Pazardzhik and Gabrovo regions
In connection with the increase in the incidence of acute respiratory diseases and influenza in the territory of the Lovech, Pazardzhik and Gabrovo regions, a flu epidemic has been declared, and temporary anti-epidemic measures are being introduced for the period from January 18 to 24.
It has been confirmed for B92: Winter break is extended
Winter break will be extended by seven days, and it will last until February 24, throughout Serbia.
A recommendation from the Ministry of Health on extending vacation was given to reduce the spread of the flu virus, as a flu epidemic was reported in Belgrade.
Flu Epidemic in Gabrovo Region, Epidemic in Razgrad and Targovishte Extended
Flu epidemic was declared in the Gabrovo region as of today, school classes are suspended until February 5, the Ministry of Health said.
Flu Epidemic in the Region of Stara Zagora Lifted
The flu epidemic in the region is cancelled after a significant decrease in acute respiratory infections last week, the Regional Health Inspectorate said. Between January 21 and 27, the rate stood at 229.62 per 10,000, with a continuing downward trend in the last two days. All measures during the flu epidemic in Stara Zagora are now cancelled.

Flu Epidemic in 16 Districts in Bulgaria, 902 Schools Are Closed
More than half of Bulgaria is already in a flu epidemic. To the map of the districts in red from today are added Kardzhali and Vidin. Thus, a total of 16 areas of the country have declared emergency measures because of the flu, reported NOVA TV.
902 schools are closed. Flu epidemic is expected to be announced in Sofia City.
Flu Epidemic Kills 5 in Bulgaria
Five people including a child died of flu in Bulgaria, the country's health ministry announced on Tuesday, quoted by Anadolu Agency.
The ministry declared flu epidemic in 10 provinces including the capital Sofia.
Also, education ministry said more than 1,000 schools were closed across the country until further notice due to epidemic.

Flu Epidemic Declared in Sliven Region
A flu epidemic has been declared in the Sliven region, effective as of January 23, in view of the increased flu and acute respiratory infections between January 14 and 20, the regional administration said. Planned surgeries, hospital visits as well as consultations for pregnant women and infants are suspended, along with preventive examinations and vaccinations.

A Flu Epidemic in Pernik is Announced
A flu epidemic was announced on the territory of Pernik Municipality. Students are on flu vacation during the period from January 17 to January 22 inclusive. Measures have been taken in connection with the high flu spread among the students, the municipality said.
At this stage, kindergartens and nurseries will be open.

Turkish health minister says eight have died of swine flu amid rise in viruses
Eight people diagnosed with swine flu have died in Turkey, Health Minister Mehmet Müezzino?lu has said, amid a rise in viral infections over the past 10 days.
