Death toll from flu rises to 111
The death toll from what is turning out to be a particularly bad flu season has climbed to 111, data for the week of February 25 - March 3 from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (KEELPNO) showed Thursday.
According to the same data, 20 people died of flu-related causes in that period.

KEELPNO urges public to get vaccinated against the flu
Greece's Center for Disease Prevention and Control (KEELPNO) is urging the public to get vaccinated against the flu, saying that even though it is late in the season, infections are still on the rise.

Official toll from flu climbs to 74
The death toll from a particularly bad flu season this year has climbed to 74, data for the week of February 11-17 from the Center for Disease Prevention and Control (KEELPNO) showed on Thursday.
The figures showed that 18 people died of flu-related causes in that period, an improvement from the 56 deaths recorded the week before that.

Death toll from flu since October rises to 56
The number of lives claimed in Greece by the H1N1 flu virus since October has risen to 56, according to a weekly report issued on Thursday by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (KEELPNO).
The center said that there were 17 deaths between February 4 and 10.
Of the 56 people that have died - 39 men and 17 women - 49 had been in intensive care units.

A 5-year-old girl who died in the emergency room of Iraklio General Hospital on the island of Crete in the early hours of Monday morning after being transferred there with a high fever has been attributed to the H1N1 flu virus.

Greek authorities have urged the public to adhere to influenza transmission prevention strategies including respiratory hygiene and cough etiquette, avoidance of closed crowded spaces and getting a flu jab to rein in the spread of the disease.

Eighteen fatalities as a result of flu recorded
The Center for Disease Prevention and Control (KEELPNO) said on Thursday that a total of 18 people -14 men and four women, ranging from 25 to 90 - have died of flu complications since the beginning of the year.
According to the center, 12 of them died in the week from January 21 to 27.
