Mura lose first leg in Europa League last qualifying round
Murska Sobota – Slovenian football champions Mura lost 1:3 (1:1) at home to Austrian Sturm Graz in the first leg of the play-off round of Europa League qualification. The only goal for Mura was scored by Žiga Škoflek in the third minute. The return leg will be played in Graz next Thursday.
Mura advance to last round of UEFA Europa League qualifying
Vilnius – Slovenian football champions Mura advanced to the play-off round of qualifying for the UEFA Europa League after beating Lithuanian champions Zalgiris 1:0 in the return leg in Vilnius on Thursday evening. In the last qualifying round, starting on 19 August, the club from Murska Sobota will play against Austria’s Sturm Graz.
Mura out of UEFA qualifying
Razgrad – Slovenian football champions Mura were knocked out of further qualifying for the UEFA Champions League after losing 1:3 to Bulgaria’s Ludogorets in the away leg of the 2nd round on Wednesday.

Mura pull out a draw against Ludogorets
Murska Sobota – Slovenian football champions Mura pulled out a goalless draw against Bulgaria’s Ludogorets in the first leg of the second round of qualifying for the UEFA Champions League at home last night, which means their potential promotion to the third round will be decided in the fixture in Bulgaria next Wednesday.

Mura win first championship title
Maribor – The Murska Sobota side Mura have won their first ever title of national football champion after defeating Maribor 3:1 in the final round of the premiere league on Saturday.
Maribor had a three-point lead heading into the final round and only needed a draw to clinch their 16th national crown.

UEFA Under-21 Euro 2021 preparations all but completed
Ljubljana – The Slovenian Football Association (NZS) and four Slovenian cities that will co-host the 2021 UEFA European Under-21 Championship with Hungary are finishing their preparations for what will be largest football event in Slovenia so far, heard an online debate on Thursday. It is not clear yet whether in-person audience will be allowed during matches.
Top football league to resume on 5 June
Players in the premier football league are already training as the authorities have allowed team sport practices as of this Monday.
The NZS said the full schedule would be confirmed by the executive committee next week, adding that the national football cup competition would also resume next month.

Konyaspor claims Turkish Super Cup
Atiker Konyaspor claimed the Turkish Super Cup after defeating the reigning league champion Beşiktaş 2-1 on Aug. 6.
The match at the Samsun Yeni 19 Mayıs Stadium saw last season's league champion Beşiktaş go against Turkish Cup winner Atiker Konyaspor.

Croatian media are abuzz with reports of the scandalous behavior displayed by the fans of Slovenia's Maribor football club, during an UEFA CL qualifier.
Maribor FC squared off with Zrinjski FC from Bosnia-Herzegovina - a club that represents the Croat population from the town of Mostar."
