Juncker: There is a good chance for success at today’s EU Summit

European Commission Vice President Frans Timmermans and Commissioner Johannes Hahn were negotiating with the Turkish authorities through the whole night and there is a good possibility for success, stated European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker during a joint press conference with Parliament President Martin Schulz in Brussels.

President set to meet with UN chief, EU officials

Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic will meet with United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon in New York on Tuesday.

During the day, he will also attend a reception organized by European Council President Donald Tusk, First Vice-President of the European Commission Frans Timmermans, and EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini.

There would be a surge in right-wing extremism across Europe unless the migrant crisis isn't tackled properly, the European Commission First Vice President Frans Timmermans warned on Thursday.

'Sustainable solutions' to the migrant crisis are needed, Timmermans told the BBC radio.

Prime Minister Victor Ponta on Tuesday said that Romania has the support of the European Commission and the European Parliament concerning the accession to the Schengen area, however it still has to persuade "one or two member states" which "still have reserves" in this regard.
