Women make up 30 percent of certificated scuba divers in Turkey, board member says
Of around 200,000 certificated scuba divers in Turkey, only 30 percent are women, Turkish Underwater Sports Federation Scuba Diving Board Member Engin Kondul has said.

Fatal speedboat accident in Halkidiki
A 54-year-old spearfisher was killed by a speedboat Wednesday off the coast of Kallithea in Halkidiki, northern Greece. According to port authorities, the man was brought to surface bleeding heavily and taken to shore by the speedboat driver before an ambulance rushed him to a nearby health center where he was pronounced dead.

Spearfisherman injured by boat off Myconos
A 36-year-old man was recovering in a clinic on the island of Myconos yesterday after a boat hit him while he was spearfishing between the coast of Myconos and Delos.
According to the local coast guard, the diver had taken all the necessary precautions to alert others to his presence.

Dancing under the water
For the first time in the world, choreographers Sophie Bulbulyan (France) and Apostolia Papadamaki (Greece) in collaboration with Lia Haraki (Cyprus) and artists from 10 countries, present an underwater dance-visual performance , ‘Drops of Breath’.

Turkish diver Şahika Ercümen breaks new freediving record
Turkish diver Åahika Ercümen broke a new world freediving record in the variable weight without fins discipline on July 23, off the coast of the Mediterranean resort town of KaÅ.
Ercümen performed a 91-meter dive in 2 minutes and 49 seconds, taking the record from another Turkish diver, Derya Can, who broke it last year.
