Complaints about the new Athens-Thessaloniki rail service
Passengers on Trainose's new, high-speed rail service linking Athens and Thessaloniki in under four hours have already fired off their first complaints. In contrast to promises made, the Italian-owned railway service operator is not using the famous ETR 485 Pendolino for the route.
Athens-Thessaloniki rail travel time to be slashed
The project to electrify the railway section between Lianokladi and Domokos on the Athens-Thessaloniki route will reportedly be completed by the end of the month, allowing Italian-owned railway service operator Trainose to launch the Pendolino ETR-485 electric trains that will cut the journey between the two cities to just over four hours.

'Silver Arrow' high-speed train makes test run in Thessaloniki
The high-speed "Silver Arrow" train that will connect Thessaloniki to Athens in just 3.5 hours, made a test run on Saturday from the northern port city to the town of Katerini.
According to Transport Minister Nikos Mavraganis, the electrification of the final 52-kilometer stretch of the Athens-Thessaloniki rail corridor will take place by end of the year.

Italian-owned Greek rail operator Trainose is expected to unveil a high-speed train that will reduce the journey between Athens and Thessaloniki in northern Greece to 3 hours and 20 minutes.
Nicknamed "Silver Arrow," the Frecciargento ETR 485 will be presented at next month's Thessaloniki International Fair.
