Turkey says Iraqi Kurds' independence referendum will bring nothing but more instability
Turkey has reiterated its concerns over Iraqi Kurdistan Regional Government's (KRG) plans to hold a referendum for the future of the semi-autonomous region on Sept. 25, saying that it will bring nothing but more instability to the already messy region.

Iraq's Kurdish region will hold an independence referendum in September, the autonomous region's government announced in a statement. The move is likely to be opposed by Baghdad which has long voiced its opposition to Kurdish secession.
Iraqi Kurds to hold independence referendum on September 25th!
President Masoud Barzani held a meeting on July 7th with the representatives of the political parties across the Kurdistan Region. During the meeting, President Barzani and the attendees discussed several salient issues including the upcoming parliamentary elections, the current political and economic situations and the issue of the independence referendum.
