Police in southeastern Attica are investigating the explosion of a device outside an event venue on the Athens-Sounio road.

The device had been placed on a bench outside the property, which is located near Agia Marina in Koropi.

The blast, which occurred shortly after midnight, caused material damage to the venue's fencing and shattered windows in adjacent businesses.

Police are investigating an overnight explosion that damaged a liquor store in the Athens district of Kallithea. Νo injuries were reported from the 3 a.m. blast, but nearby shops and parked vehicles were also damaged.

An apartment building housing retail stores and offices in Piraeus suffered significant damages overnight after unknown individuals planted and detonated an explosive device at the entrance, police said. No injuries have been reported.

Police bomb disposal experts defused an explosive device comprising a hand grenade on Saturday after receiving an anonymous caller telephoned a threat that the bomb would detonate outside the police precinct in Dafni, southern Athens.

The bomb was found in a bag that had been placed in a small park behind the police precinct. 

Police in Patra, western Greece, cordoned off a section of the city center early on Monday afternoon following the discovery of a mortar shell behind a primary cross-connection point on a street corner.

Army explosives experts were expected to collect the mortar and take it to a remote location for destruction.
