Türkiye on 3-day high alert as wildfires spread
As Türkiye remains on high alert due to wildfires across multiple regions, Agriculture and Forestry Minister İbrahim Yumaklı has announced that the flames on the historical Gallipoli Peninsula were brought under control, however, a severe wildfire in Manisa continues to rage on for a third day.

French soldiers laid to rest in Çanakkale
The remains of 17 French soldiers who lost their lives during the Gallipoli campaign 107 years ago were laid to rest in a ceremony held at the Morto Bay in Çanakkale on April 24.
Only one of the soldiers was identified, but other archaeological finds, such as rings, grave signs, crosses and gravestones, revealed a former French cemetery near the Seddülbahir (Cape Helles) Castle.

A total of 24 companies have taken specifications for Turkey's 1915 Çanakkale Bridge, planned to be completed and opened in 1923, Transportation, Maritime Affairs and Communications Minister Ahmet Arslan has said.
Four of the companies are from Japan, three are from China, two are from South Korea and one is from Italy, state-run Anadolu Agency reported on Jan. 18.
