A British shipment of nearly 100 tons of aid has left Cyprus bound for a new temporary pier in Gaza, the British Foreign Office has said in a statement.

International organizations have said that Gaza faces a severe humanitarian crisis threatening a population of more than 2 million people.

Finland will resume funding to the U.N. agency for Palestinian refugees UNRWA, Foreign Trade and Development Minister Ville Tavio announced on Friday.

Sweden said Saturday it was resuming aid to the cash-strapped U.N. agency for Palestinians with an initial disbursement of $20 million after receiving assurances of extra checks on its spending and personnel.

Humanitarian aid for Gaza is expected to sail from Cyprus in coming days, a source familiar with the matter said on Wednesday.

It was not immediately clear which country was supplying the aid, where it would land or how it would be distributed. The source said aid was being coordinated with the United Arab Emirates.

Ankara has expressed deep concern over the decision of key donor countries to suspend funding to the U.N. agency for Palestinian refugees following Israel's allegations that staff members took part in Hamas' Oct. 7 attack.

Under the initiative of the Foreign Ministry, Greek humanitarian aid headed for the Gaza Strip arrived at Egypt's El Arish Airport on Thursday.

The NGOs Doctors of the World and International Humanitarian Aid Foundation contributed the cargo, which consists of first-aid supplies and personal hygiene products, in addition to a fully outfitted reception and basic patient care unit.

"Representatives of the PRCS received 4,760 trucks with which humanitarian aid was delivered to the people of the enclave from Egypt between October 21 and December 22," according to the statement, TASS reports.
It is added that the humanitarian aid mainly included food, medicine and drinking water.

A Turkish ship carrying a large number of health supplies — including field hospitals and ambulances — to Gazans has arrived at an Egyptian port near the besieged strip, Health Minister Fahrettin Koca has announced.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced Sunday that an airplane will depart Monday morning with humanitarian aid for the Gaza Strip.
