Question by Belleris to the European Parliament on the recognition of the Genocide of Christians by the Ottoman Empire

 

A question on the recognition of the Genocide of the Christians of the East (Anatolia) was submitted to the European Commission by the MEP of the European People’s Party and the New Democracy, Mr. Fredi Beleris, on the occasion of today’s International Day of Remembrance and Dignity for the Victims of the Crime of Genocide and the Prevention of this Crime.

Spain joins S Africa's Gaza case at UN top court

Spain said on Thursday that it will join South Africa's case at the U.N.'s top court in which Pretoria has accused Israel of "genocide" in the Gaza Strip.

"Our sole goal is to put an end to the war and to advance on the road of applying the two-state solution", Spanish Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Albares said at a press conference.

Israel will on Friday hit back at what it describes as "atrocious" allegations it is committing "genocide" in Gaza, in a closely watched landmark case before the U.N.'s top court.

South Africa has launched an emergency case at the International Court of Justice arguing that Israel stands in breach of the U.N. Genocide Convention, signed in 1948 in the wake of the Holocaust.
