Greece should advocate a new approach to genocide remembrance. Currently genocides are memorialized on a parochial basis.

BELGRADE - The Serbian government on Thursday adopted conclusions under which Serbia and Republika Srpska will build two memorial centres to commemorate the victims of the Jasenovac death camp in the WWII-era Independent State of Croatia.

With declarations from the parliamentary rostrum, the political formations in the 49th National Assembly marked the 108th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.

The leader of "Vazrazhdane" (Revival) Kostadin Kostadinov reminded:

Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias has issued a message to mark the 108th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.

"Preserving the memory of the victims of the Armenian Genocide is the minimum duty of all humanity. Our thoughts today are with the Armenians of our homeland and with the entire world," Dendias tweeted.

Greek President Katerina Sakellaropoulou marked Armenian Genocide Remembrance Day on April 24 by calling for the fight against all forms of hatred.

Relatives of the victims along with members of the Tuzla Canton government and representatives of the Federal Ministry of Refugees and Displaced Persons laid 105 flowers by the fence of a school playground in Srebrenica on Wednesday in memory of those killed by shelling on April 12, 1993.

Hasan Hasanovic was a witness to the massacre, which also injured more than 100 people.

Former Bosnian Serb military policeman Momcilo Tesic was sentenced to 20 years in prison for his participation in the shooting of 17 Bosniaks from Srebrenica in July 1995.

Presenting its closing statement to the Bosnian state court on Friday, the prosecution said it had proved during the trial that Momcilo Tesic, a former military policeman with the Bosnian Serb Army's Vlasenica Brigade, is guilty of participating in the murders of 21 Bosniak men from Srebrenica in July 1995.

The Bosnian state court has rejected a prosecution appeal confirmed a verdict acquitting Miodrag Josipovic, Branimir Tesic, Dragomir Vasic, Danilo Zoljic and Radomir Pantic of participation in the partial extermination of Bosniaks from Srebrenica in July 1995, the men's lawyers told BIRN.
