36-year-old man injured in shooting in central Athens
A 36-year-old man was injured in a shooting in the Kerameikos district of downtown Athens on Wednesday morning.
The incident occurred around 10.20 a.m. at the intersection of Kerameikou and Iasonos streets. According to initial reports, three unidentified individuals opened fire on the victim, wounding him in the leg.

Man arrested after Omonia knife attack
Greek police have arrested an Algerian national in connection with a late Tuesday bar brawl in Omonia, central Athens, that left two persons injured.
Police say the two victims, an Iraqi and an Egyptian national, suffered light injuries after they were attacked by four men wielding knives.
The motive for the attack was not immediately clear.

Thessaloniki surgeon released pending trial on bribery charges
The chief of the childrens surgery unit at the Georgios Gennimatas Hospital in the northern port city of Thessaloniki was released on Friday from custody pending trial on charges of accepting a 1,000 bribe in order to operate on a 20-year-old patient.
He was also ordered to pay 10,000 euros in bail.
