New Democracy should look to center ground, says Mitsotakis
Administrative Reform Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis expressed opposition on Friday to New Democracys apparent plans to bring back into the fold politicians who had left the party in the past and went on to be part of what he termed populist parties.

The leader of Popular Orthodox Rally (LAOS), Giorgos Kartzaferis, said Thursday that he is prepared to work with New Democracy, the party from which he was ousted in 2000, to prevent SYRIZA winning the next general elections.

LAOS leader Karatzaferis recovering after emergency surgery
The leader of ultranationalist Popular Orthodox Rally (LAOS), Giorgos Karatzaferis, is being treated in an intensive care unit at an Athens hospital after undergoing surgery.
Karatzaferis was admitted to a private hospital in Maroussi, northern Athens, on Saturday afternoon after feeling unwell and was diagnosed as having a blocked artery.
Central Athens LAOS party offices firebombed
Two Molotov cocktails were thrown at the offices of Popular Orthodox Rally (LAOS) in Patissia, central Athens, on Friday night.
The attack cause minor damage to the partys offices.
Nobody was hurt.
Ultranationalist LAOS surprised experts by gaining 2.7 percent of the vote in the European Parliament elections.
