Giannis Spanos

Athens-born singer-songwriter Arleta died Tuesday morning at the age of 72 at an Athens hospital where she had been in the intensive care unit after suffering a severe stroke. She rose to international fame as an icon of the Greek new wave scene.

Seasoned vocalist Dimitra Galani and Efstathios Drakos, frontman of the Patra-based English-language pop band Minor Project (he also wrote the music for Galanis's latest album), join forces at the Gazarte venue in Gazi on March 6, 13, 20 and 27.

Princeton University hosted recently a tribute concert to one of the most successful and progressive contemporary Greek lyricists, Lina Nikolakopoulou.

The concert that took place on March 1, was organized by the Seeger Center for Hellenic Studies, Orange Pan-Hellenic Association, and Syn-Phonia Entertainment Inc.
