The government is to shift its attention to the next set of reforms that it needs to legislate to unlock further rescue funding this week, with a visit by European Economic and Monetary Affairs Commissioner Pierre Moscovici on Monday expected to underline the expectations of Greece's creditors.

Government MPs geared up on Wednesday for the parliamentary debate on the last batch of measures demanded by Greece's lenders but there was no sign that the creditors had resolved their differences over how to deal with the country's debt.

Greece’s Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras  will visit Izmir on Tuesday to participate in the 4th meeting of the bilateral High-Level Cooperation Council, just a few hours after the end of EU summit on refugee that took place in Brussels.

During yesterday’s debate on the omnibus bill, the opposition unleashed a fierce attack on the government of Alexis Tsipras.

Economy Minister George Stathakis is believed to be the minister who did not declare a million euros worth of assets to the auditors of Greek Parliament for the last three years.

Another “Bitter pill” moment for the days-old second Tsipras government came on Friday when the relevant economy minister said the recession-battered country’s GDP would shrink by between 1.5 to 2.0 percent in election-plagued 2015.
Giorgos Stathakis confirmed projections for yet another year of economic downturn, and in the face of last year’s targets of a 2.9-percent hike in GDP.

Moreover, according to reports out of Athens and Brussels, creditors have already provided the first “ok” after receiving the signed copies of Athens’ proposals for the latest bailout package.
