Prime Minister Boyko Borissov has held telephone talks with EC President Ursula von der Leyen and European Council President Charles Michel.

Germany is open to welcoming underage refugees from Greece, provided that the current situation at the Greek borders with Turkey - also the EU's external borders - is resolved, according to a Wednesday report on Germany's state TV ARD.

Tens of thousands of migrants are now waiting on Turkish border and at Aegean Sea ports, hoping to enter Europe.

Both Greece and the EU have said that they will not allow them to cross the border, and Greece has tightened security in border areas, sending in more army and police units. Greece has accused Ankara of using refugees for "blackmail" purposes.
