Worlds collide in Constantinople-Istanbul

Five hundred and seventy years after the Fall of Constantinople, Recep Tayyip Erdogan chose the Hagia Sophia to celebrate the anniversary and his own victory in Sunday's elections. Biden congratulates Erdoğan on renewing his tenure

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held a phone call with his U.S. counterpart, Joe Biden, late on May 29 after renewing his tenure in the runoff election.

Biden congratulated Erdoğan on his reelection. Biden expressed the hope that the Turkish people would benefit from the election win, said a statement by the Turkish Presidency's Directorate of Communications.

President congratulates Erdogan on election victory

President Katerina Sakellaropoulou sent a message to re-elected Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Monday, congratulating him on his victory.

In her message, the president notes that she looks forward to the further development of bilateral relations on the basis of international law with the goal of securing regional peace and stability.
