Egypt unveils ancient workshops
Archaeologists in Egypt have unearthed two human and animal embalming workshops, as well as two tombs, discovered in the Saqqara necropolis south of Cairo, the government said on May 27.
The vast burial site, at the ancient Egyptian capital Memphis, is a UNESCO World Heritage site and home to more than a dozen pyramids, animal graves and old Coptic Christian monasteries.

Smiley, dimpled sphinx statue found in Egypt
Archaeologists in Egypt have unearthed a sphinx statue "with a smiley face and two dimples" near the Hathor Temple, one of the country's best preserved ancient sites, the tourism and antiquities ministry announced on March 6.
It is the latest in a series of discoveries revealed over the past few months.

Egypt unveils ancient funerary temple south of Cairo
Egypt's former antiquities minister and noted archaeologist Zahi Hawass on Jan. 17 revealed details of an ancient funerary temple in a vast necropolis south of Cairo.
Hawass told reporters at the Saqqara necropolis that archaeologists unearthed the temple of Queen Neit, wife of King Teti, the first king of the Sixth Dynasty that ruled Egypt from 2323 B.C. till 2150 B.C.
Archaeologists Discovered a 4500 Years Old Cemetery in Egypt
In Egypt, a cemetery that is 4500 years ago was discovered, the Ministry of Antiquities said, quoted by AFP. In the tombs located in the immediate vicinity of the Giza pyramids, there are colorful wooden sarcophagi and statues of limestone dating back to ancient Egyptian times.

Another vandal act with a Bulgarian origin on one of the Seven Wonders of the World has outraged users of social networks.
The inscription "Loko 2019" appeared on the The Great Pyramid of Giza. This shocked Bulgarian tourists who visited the tourist landmark in Egypt on January 5th. and they make photographs of the inscription carved in the ancient stone.

Seven sarcophagi, some dating back more than 6,000 years, have been discovered at a site on the edge of the pyramid complex in Saqqara, south of the Egyptian capital, archaeology officials announced Nov. 9.

CAIRO: Egypt says archaeologists have discovered a statue of a lion's body and a human head in the southern city of Aswan.
The Antiquities Ministry says Sunday the sphinx made of sandstone was found in the Temple of Kom Ombo during work to protect the site from groundwater.
The Tallest Man and the Shortest Woman in the World at the Pyramids of Giza (Video)
The tallest man in the world - Sultan Kosen, and the shortest woman - Jyoti Amge, took pictures in front of the Giza pyramids, UPI reported.
They are in Egypt at the invitation of the tourist authorities. They will also visit other landmarks such as the Cairo Tower.
Sultan Kosen is a farmer. He is 36 years old and is 2.46 meters tall.
Remains of ancient pyramid found in Egypt
The remains of an Egyptian pyramid built around 3,700 years ago have been discovered near the well-known "bent pyramid" of King Snefru, the antiquities ministry announced on April 3.
The pyramid from the 13th dynasty was found in Dahshur's royal necropolis, some 30 kilometers south of Cairo, it said.
