Disney World in Florida reopens a bit- but no rides yet
Walt Disney World cracked open its doors on May 20, offering dining and shopping to masked customers but leaving the beloved rides closed, as Florida begins to slowly get back to business after a coronavirus lockdown.
As the park welcomed people to the Disney Springs shopping strip in Orlando, the new reality of life in the COVID-19 era was stark.

The 98th AHEPA Family Supreme Convention of the American Hellenic Educational Progressive Association (Order of AHEPA) has been cancelled due to the global coronavirus pandemic, the body's President George G. Horiates announced in a statement on Wednesday.

Man arrested trying to quarantine on private Disney island
Florida deputies arrested a man who had been living out his quarantine on a shuttered Disney World island, telling authorities it felt like a "tropical paradise."
Orange County Sheriff's deputies found Richard McGuire on Disney's Discovery Island on April 30. He said he'd been there since April 27 or April 28 and had planned to camp there for a week, according to an arrest report.

2 Police Officers Shot, 1 Killed in Kissimmee, Florida
Two police officers were shot and one was killed in Kissimmee, Florida late Friday night. Kissimmee is near Orlando, Fox News reported.
The Kissimmee police chief said the other officer was in very, very grave condition. Orange County mayor Teresa Jacobs had earlier tweeted that both officers had died.
Belgrade Reader sculpture to be placed in US
CASSELBERRY - A sculpture by young artist Milos Saric, a participant of the Belgrade Reader project and the third-place winner in the contest, will be placed in the famous Lake Concord Park outside the city hall in Casselberry, Florida, US, on November 19.
With the placement of the sculpture, the support for culture has continued, the Casselberry City Hall said in a statement.
