Suspicious package prompts evacuation of Thessaloniki Courthouse
The Thessaloniki Courthouse was evacuated on Monday following the discovery of a suspicious package, according to local media reports.
The bomb disposal unit of the Greek Police (ELAS) has been dispatched to the scene.
As of now, no further information is available.

New chiefs appointed to police and fire service
The Government Council for National Security (KYSEA) on Tuesday decided to appoint new police and fire chiefs, in a bid to address mounting public concerns about law and order.
Following the council's decisions, Dimitris Mallios, until now head of the Alien and Border Protection Branch, will replace Lazaros Mavropoulos as chief of the Hellenic Police (ELAS).

Students clash with police outside meeting of deans
Students and police forces engaged in a tense standoff, which at times spilled over, on Friday outside a hotel in Kavouri on the southern coast of Athens where a meeting of university deans was taking place.
Some 800 students were protesting against the establishment of private universities.
Dozens arrested over anniversary street riots
The Hellenic Police (ELAS) announced on Thursday that 193 people were detained, of whom 30 were arrested, in connection with street riots that erupted in Athens and Thessaloniki on Wednesday night after marches and rallies commemorating the fatal shooting of 15-year-old Alexis Grigoropoulos in 2008 by a police special guard.

Authorities apprehend suspect connected to migrant confinement video
The Greek authorities have apprehended an individual in connection with a disturbing video posted on social media on Tuesday. The video depicted a man confining a group of 13 undocumented migrants within a cargo trailer, which was being towed by a 4WD vehicle, near the town of Alexandroupoli in northern Greece.
