A crucial decision for Hellenism in the US
The next couple of days will be crucial for the future of Hellenism in the United States. A decision will be taken in Istanbul on whether Archbishop Demetrios of America will step down from his post and, if so, who will replace him. Officials in Athens would in the past treat this as a routine decision. But this is no longer the case.

Holy Fire touches down in Athens (video)
The Holy Fire arrived at the Athens International Airport at 19.30 and was received with honours of a state leader during a special ceremony. The Holy Fire was lit earlier in Jerusalem where the an official Greek governmental delegation received it and boarded on the Prime Ministerial airplane and flown back to Athens.

Diocese of Glydfada prays for postponement of Pope’s visit to Greece
The Greek Orthodox Diocese of Glyfada issued a statement saying it would pray for the scheduled visit of Pope Francis to Greece on April 16 to be postponed, as it considered the visit of ‘such grave significance’ that it should be decided upon by the whole body of the Greek Orthodox Church and not solely to the Archbishop of Athens and Greece, Hieronymus.
