15% growth in sales of new cars in Bulgaria for the first five months of the year, according to the data of the Association of Automobile Manufacturers in Europe (ACEA).
New law designed to super-charge electric mobility
The National Assembly has passed a law paving the way for a significant expansion of infrastructure for alternative fuels and a faster uptake of electric vehicles.
Described by the government as a keystone green transition act, the legislation sets out to introduce a dense publicly accessible network of refuelling and supply infrastructure for alternative fuels in transport.

Togg to deliver over 1,000 cars in May
Togg aims to deliver more than 1,000 vehicles in May, says Gürcan Karakaş, the CEO of Türkiye's first indigenous electric car maker.
"We will deliver more cars in June," Karakaş told private broadcaster Bloomberg HT, adding that a total of 28,000 will be delivered by the end of the year.

GM recalls 40,000 pickups to fix fire risk
General Motors is recalling certain Chevrolet Silverado medium-duty trucks for model year 2019 or later, following the discovery of a potential leak in brake fluid that could result in a fire.
Potentially 40,428 vehicles could be affected.

European car sales shift higher in March: data
Sales of new cars jumped last month in Europe, surpassing the level of one million for the first time since June 2021, according to data from the European Automobile Manufacturers Association published on Wednesday.
New car registrations hit 1,087,939 in March, an increase of 28.8 percent from the same month last year.

Electric cars remain an unaffordable luxury for the majority of Greeks and Europeans in general, as in spite of state subsidies, which were also provided in Greece, the purchase cost is in some cases even double that of a conventional car.

Tesla to deliver vehicles to Turkish consumers in May
The U.S electric car maker Tesla has scheduled first deliveries of its vehicles for Turkish customers in May.
The company started to collect pre-orders for vehicles on April 4. Tesla will sell three versions of its Model Y in Türkiye.
Auto sales leap 62 percent in March
The combined sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles increased by a strong 61.7 percent in March compared with the same month of 2022, the Automotive Distributors' and Mobility Association (ODMD) has said.
