On April 4, Apostolos Lytras will sit in the dock of the Monopolium Court of Appeal, accused of beating her estranged wife Sophia Polyzogopoulou. The hearing of this case was set for next April and before a single-member Court of Appeal, due to special jurisdiction, given the accused’s status as a lawyer.
23-year-old in critical condition after being attacked by ‘trapper’
A 23-year-old man, who had been beaten by two suspects in Thessaloniki on Friday, remains hospitalized in critical condition after sustaining severe injuries.
The victim was assaulted by two men in the earlier hours Friday. One of the alleged suspects is a well-known trap music artist.

Police has arrested a 21-year-old man on suspicion who hurled a firecracker and injured a soccer player at a Super League match last month.
The match on October 22 was stopped in the 50th minute after Panathinaikos left back Juan "Juankar" Carlos was hit by the firework as he was warming up on the touchline.
Three teens arrested for assaulting two kids
Police have arrested three teenagers, aged 14, 16 and 19 over the assault and mugging of two 14-year-olds. They were charged with causing grievous bodily harm and robbery in conspiracy, as well as for violating legislation on fan violence.

Man hospitalized with serious burns after wife sets him on fire
A woman was arrested on the island of Lesvos for pouring flammable liquid over her husband and setting him on fire.
The victim, a businessman in the catering industry, was rushed to an intensive care unit in the island's capital of Mytilini with extensive burns and breathing difficulties.
Teens charged with felony for attack against metro employee
A prosecutor in Athens charged two teenagers with grievous bodily harm for the violent beating of a metro station manager in central Athens on Wednesday, when he asked them to wear a mask in the train.
They were also charged with disobedience, a misdemeanour, after they refused to give fingerprints.

Three foreign nationals, aged 23, 28 and 21, were arrested in Thessaloniki, northern Greece after a car chase, police said on Tuesday.
The three were charged with mugging a man in the city center, attempting to cause grievous bodily harm and resisting arrest.

Migrant bites police officer in Thessaloniki
A 23-year-old Iranian migrant was arrested on Friday in Thessaloniki, northern Greece, after reportedly biting a riot police officer's leg.
The incident occurred when police were dispatched to break up a minor scuffle that the man was involved in at a migrant center in an area near Thessaloniki's main train station.

Prosecutor proposes guilty verdicts in Giakoumakis trial
A prosecutor on Tuesday recommended a guilty verdict for eight former students of the Dairy School of Ioannina in northwestern Greece who are accused of causing grievous bodily harm to to their classmate, Vangelis Giakoumakis, a 20-year-old who committed suicide at the school in 2015.
