Former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak to be released, says lawyer
Hosni Mubarak, who was overthrown as president of Egypt in an uprising in 2011, will be released from detention in a military hospital, the public prosecutor ruled on March 13, his lawyers and judicial sources said.
"He will go to his home in Heliopolis," Mubarak's lawyer Farid El Deeb said, adding the ageing former president would likely be released on March 14 or soon after.
Former Egyptian President Faces Embezzlement Retrial
Former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, who was convicted of embezzlement in May 2014, faces a retrial after the Court of Cassation ruled that legal procedures were not followed properly.
It still remains unclear whether Mubarak will be released from custody, the BBC reports.

Egypt Court Drops Murder Charges Against Hosni Mubarak
A court in Egypt has dropped the case against former President Hosni Mubarak of conspiring to kill protesters during the 2011 uprising against him, reports BBC.
He was also cleared of a corruption charge involving gas exports to Israel.
Mubarak, 86, is serving a separate three-year sentence for embezzlement of public funds.
