The Turkish Foreign Ministry has expressed its disappointment over the Iraqi prime minister?s reaction to the Turkish military?s aerial operations in northern Iraq.

Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi said on Tuesday that the Turkish airstrikes on PKK targets in northern Iraq constituted a violation of the country's sovereignty.

The Council of Ministers considered the airstrikes as "dangerous escalation and a violation of Iraq's sovereignty", al-Abadi said in a message on his official Twitter account.

Around 40 foreign suicide bombers enter Iraq each month, Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi said on June 15, calling for countries in the region to curb the flow of foreign fighters.

U.S. President Barack Obama will meet Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi on the sidelines of a weekend Group of Seven summit in Germany, the White House said on June 7.

The meeting will allow Obama to discuss the "situation on the ground and our effort to support Iraqi forces," senior White House aide Ben Rhodes told reporters in a conference call ahead of Obama's trip.
