Hakkâri attack

One soldier was killed and two were injured in an attack carried out by the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) in the eastern Turkish province of Bitlis on June 25, officials have said.

Police and security forces made announcements on March 18 addressing those who want to leave their houses in the southeastern province of Hakkari's Yüksekova district, as security operations against outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) militants continue in the area.

Turkish warplanes struck 24 targets in a bombardment of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) positions in the southeastern province of Hakkari late Sept. 29, a day after three security personnel and one civilian were killed in attacks.

Turkish security forces have removed roadblocks that were installed by supporters of the outlawed Kurdistan Worker’s Party (PKK) in a rural area of Diyarbakır to protest the construction of police stations.

The uncertainty about the kids reportedly abducted by the PKK adds to the political tensions.
