Half-mast

Amidst a national day of mourning, the Czech Republic's embassy in Bulgaria solemnly lowered its flag to half-mast, paying tribute to the victims of the tragic mass shooting at Prague University. In a poignant display of remembrance, flickering mourning candles now stand in front of the embassy building in Sofia, joined by the EU flag also flying at half-mast.

In accordance with the Law on Marking the Day of Mourning, certain rules are prescribed.
The regulations on the manner of marking the day of mourning state that authorities and organizations, as well as other legal entities that display the flag, are obliged to lower the flag of the Republic of Serbia to half-mast, i.e. at half mast, with appropriate lighting at night.

The man suspected of carrying out a shooting in Monterey Park in California has died. Los Angeles County Sheriff Robert Luna said investigators have confirmed that the man identified as Huu Can Tran, 72, was found dead inside a white cargo van after engaging in a standoff with police in Torrance, California, CNN reported.

Ljubljana – President Borut Pahor will represent Slovenia at the funeral of the late Queen Elizabeth II in London on Monday, his office announced on Wednesday. During the funeral, the flag will be lowered to half-mast in front of the Presidential Palace in Ljubljana between noon and 2pm.
