Golden Horn ‘overfilled with sewage waste’
The Golden Horn, the binding inlet between the Bosphorus Strait and the Marmara Sea, has become severely polluted, posing a significant threat to the marine life and ecosystem of the Marmara Sea, Istanbul Environmental Council Secretary-General Zafer Murat Çetintaş has said.

Istanbul Biennial unveils ‘Golden Horn in the Golden Horn’
Since its 15th edition in 2017, the Istanbul Biennial has invited an artist to present a permanent artwork in the public space for each edition.
Turkish artist Ayşe Erkmen's new sculptural work, made for the 17th Istanbul Biennial, was unveiled on Oct. 24.
Istanbul Opera Festival kicks off
The 13th International Istanbul Opera Festival will start with the "7 Tenor" concert at Haliç Congress Center Open Air Stage on July 16. The event will feature four major opera works and a concert to be staged by the Ankara, Istanbul and Antalya State Opera and Ballet Directorates until July 30. All works within the scope of the festival will be staged at 9 p.m.

Couple marries in Istanbul subway station in first
The very first marriage in a subway station in Turkey was solemnized on Oct. 30, state-run Anadolu Agency has reported.
Alper Odabaşı and Yeşim Demiray married at the observation terrace of the Haliç Station on the Golden Horn, after permission was granted by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality.

Details of 'Darzanà' project revealed
The Pavilion of Turkey at the 15th International Architecture Exhibition, la Biennale di Venezia, which will be held between May 28 and Nov. 27, will feature the project Darzanà. The Pavilion of Turkey, coordinated by the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts (?KSV) is located at the Sale d'Armi, in the Venetian Arsenal.
