Shapovalov wins Belgrade Open ATP tournament
BELGRADE - Canadian tennis player Denis Shapovalov has won the Belgrade Open ATP 250 tournament by beating Serbia's Hamad Medjedovic 6-4, 6-4 in the final on Saturday.
Besides 250 ATP points, Shapovalov, who won after an hour and 17 minutes of play, took home 114,055 euros in prize money.

Serbia beats Greece 3-1 in Davis Cup tie
BELGRADE - The Serbia Davis Cup team defeated Greece 3-1 in Belgrade at the weekend to stay in the Davis Cup World Group.
On Saturday, Serbia's Miomir Kecmanovic defeated Aristotelis Thanos 6-3, 6-3 and Novak Djokovic beat Ioannis Xilas 6-0, 6-1.

Djokovic to face Frenchman Herbert in Roland Garros first round
PARIS - Serbia's Novak Djokovic, the world number one in men's tennis singles, was on Thursday drawn to play Frenchman Pierre-Hugues Herbert in the first round of the Roland Garros tournament.
World number 143 Herbert suffered a defeat in his only encounter with Djokovic to date at the 2013 Paris Masters.
Medjedovic loses to Medvedev at Rome Masters
ROME - Serbian tennis player Hamad Medjedovic is out of the Rome Masters tournament after a 7-6 (7-5), 2-6, 7-5 defeat to Russian Daniil Medvedev in the third round on Monday evening.
Defending champion Medvedev, who won after two hours and 53 minutes of play, will next face American Tommy Paul, who beat German Dominik Koepfer in the third round.

Lajovic, Kecmanovic and Medjedovic through to Rome Masters second round
ROME - Serbian tennis players Dusan Lajovic, Miomir Kecmanovic and Hamad Medjedovic are all through to the second round of the Rome Masters tournament.
In the opening round, Lajovic defeated Italian Lorenzo Sonego 6-3, 6-7 (5-7), 6-3 after two hours and 31 minutes of play last night.
Lajovic will next face Argentine Sebastian Baez.
Serbia's Medjedovic through to Rome Masters main draw
ROME - Serbian tennis player Hamad Medjedovic is through to the main draw of the Rome Masters tournament after a 6-1, 6-4 win over American J J Wolf in the final qualifying round on Tuesday.
Medjedovic won after just an hour and 15 minutes of play.
The name of his opponent in the first round of the tournament is yet to be announced.
Serbia Davis Cup team trains in Malaga ahead of match vs Great Britain
MALAGA - The Serbia Davis Cup team completed a training session in Malaga ahead of Thursday's tie against Great Britain in the Davis Cup Finals quarter-finals.
The training session was led by head coach Viktor Troicki and Janko Tipsarevic, a recent addition to the coaching staff.
Djokovic to lead Serbia at Davis Cup Finals, Cacic replaced by Medjedovic
BELGRADE - The head coach of the Serbia men's national tennis team Viktor Troicki on Monday announced the Serbia squad for the Davis Cup Finals in Malaga, the Tennis Association of Serbia said.
In a statement, it said Troicki had made one change in the lineup compared to the Davis Cup tournament in Valencia, replacing Nikola Cacic with Hamad Medjedovic.
Serbia's Medjedovic defeated in Astana semis
ASTANA - Serbian tennis player Hamad Medjedovic has failed to reach the final of the Astana ATP tournament after losing 6-7, 7-6, 7-6 to American Sebastian Korda in the semi-finals on Monday.
World number 28 Korda won after two hours and 53 minutes.
Medjedovic, who is currently placed 120th in the ATP rankings, will move up around 15 positions in next week's rankings.

Medjedovic beats Thiem to advance to Gstaad third round
GSTAAD - Serbian tennis player Hamad Medjedovic is through to the third round of the ATP tournament in Gstaad, Switzerland, after defeating Austrian Dominic Thiem 7-5, 2-6, 6-3 on Wednesday.
Medjedovic, who won after two hours and 15 minutes of play, will next face the winner of the all-German tie between Yannick Hanfmann and Daniel Altmaier.
