Türkiye has lashed out at Israel for launching a new and large offensive against Lebanon and warned the international community over looming regional chaos.

"Israel's attacks on Lebanon mark a new phase in its efforts to drag the entire region into chaos," the Turkish Foreign Ministry said in a written statement late on Sept. 23.

Israel is not facing sufficient pressure to end the war in Gaza and the escalation in Lebanon is a minefield that the international community may not be able to deal with, Greece's foreign minister said on Monday.

Turkey, among the world's sharpest critics of the Israeli military operation in Gaza, will use the UN General Assembly this week to highlight what it says is a genocide unfolding there and will urge international pressure on Israel.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will attend the 79th U.N. General Assembly where he will address other world leaders on current global issues, particularly the ongoing Israeli massacres against civilians in Gaza and the West Bank.

When, on October 7, Hamas chose to make what could have been a daring military act of resistance into a spectacular display of civilian slaughter, it was clear that its plan was to blast open the gates of hell.

The UN General Assembly recently passed a resolution urging Israel to withdraw from the Palestinian territories within 12 months, based on recommendations from the UN Court of Justice. The resolution also calls for member states to refrain from selling arms and military equipment to Israel for use in Gaza, the West Bank, and East Jerusalem.

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken is scheduled to arrive in Cairo on Wednesday to meet top Egyptian officials to discuss and push efforts for a possible cease-fire in Gaza.

The visit marks his 10th trip to the Middle East since Israel launched its deadly war on Gaza on Oct. 7.

Türkiye will maintain its intelligence diplomacy efforts to bring an end to both Israel's deadly assaults on the Gaza Strip and the Russia-Ukraine war, Turkish intelligence chief İbrahim Kalın has said.

Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday expanded the country's goals for the war in Gaza, vowing to allow Israelis who fled areas near the Lebanon border to return to their homes.

The Israeli military said a missile fired from Yemen crossed into central Israel on Sunday and "fell in an open area".

It said in a statement that "a surface-to-surface missile was identified crossing into central Israel from the East and fell in an open area. No injuries were reported."
