Murakami to publish first novel in six years
Celebrated Japanese author Haruki Murakami will release his first new novel in six years this April, publisher Shinchosha announced on Feb. 1.
There was little detail given about the new work, which will be Murakami's first novel since "Killing Commendatore" was published in February 2017.

Murakami wins Danish literature prize
Japanese novelist Haruki Murakami on Nov. 17 won Denmark's top literary award, the Hans Christian Andersen Prize, following in the footsteps of such writers as J.K. Rowling and Salman Rushdie.
The award, named after Denmark's famous fairytale creator H.C. Andersen, comes with a cheque for 500,000 kroner (67,000 euros, $71,400).

Murakami says Japan ignoring WWII, Fukushima role: Report
Japanese writer Haruki Murakami has chided his country for shirking responsibility for its World War II aggression and the Fukushima nuclear disaster in an interview published Nov. 3.
Speaking to the Mainichi Shimbun newspaper, the 65-year-old author said: "No one has taken real responsibility for the 1945 war end or the 2011 Fukushima Daiichi nuclear accident. I feel so."
