Police arrest truck driver on drug charges in Lykovrisi

A truck driver was arrested on Monday in Lykovrisi, northern Athens on charges of transporting and smuggling drugs into Greece after amounts of cocaine and hashish were found in his vehicle.

According to the Hellenic Police (ELAS), the suspect, a foreign national, said he was a truck driver transporting products between European countries.

Trio arrested in mountains with 122.75 kg of hashish

Three foreign nationals - two 29-year-olds and a 26-year-old - were arrested in a mountainous region of Thesprotia in northwestern Greece, not far from the border with Albania, at midnight on Wednesday after being found in possession of 122.75 kilograms of unprocessed hashish.
The drugs were reportedly contained in 113 packages inside rucksacks being carried by the three suspects.

Drug runners arrested in Kastoria and Thesprotia

Police in Kastoria, northern Greece, on Thursday announced the confiscation of 68.8 kilograms of hashish after a car being driven by a 45-year-old foreign national was stopped and inspected.
The man was arrested by border guards on Wednesday after a check on the vehicle turned up four rucksacks containing 57 packages of the drug.

Man, 69, arrested in Kilkis with 80 kilos of hash

A 69-year-old man was arrested in the rural border region of Kilkis, northern Greece, at the weekend for transporting almost 80 kilograms of hashish in travel bags on to a trailer attached to a quad bike he was riding, police said on Monday.
Police, who stopped the man on Saturday, found 69 packages weighing a total of 77.7 kilos.
