Turkey has three new entries in the UNESCO Creative Cities Network (UCCN): Istanbul as a city of design, Kütahya as a city of crafts and folk art, and finally Hatay (also known as Antioch) as a city of gastronomy.

Famous Hatay mosaic to be promoted in Paris

A Roman-era mosaic that was unearthed at a construction site in the southern province of Hatay in April will soon be promoted in Paris. 

According to a statement made by the municipality, the "skeleton mosaic" will be promoted to the world on Oct. 25 as part of the "Mosaic Road project" by the ONE Association, which aims to promote Anatolian mosaics to the world.

Ancient mosaic doesn't say 'Be cheerful, live your life,' claims expert

A phrase written on an ancient mosaic found in the southern province of Hatay, which reportedly read "Be cheerful, live your life," continues to pique the interest of experts, with writer and researcher Murat Bardakç? claiming the writing on the mosaic was wrongly interpreted. 

Turkey's Culture Ministry denies claims of botched restorations of ancient mosaics

The Culture and Tourism Ministry has refuted claims that the restoration of ancient mosaics in the southern city of Hatay has seriously damaged the works, saying the photos published in the press were taken during the initial phase of the restoration.
