BELGRADE - A Pakistan International Airlines plane with up to 47 people on board has crashed while en route from Chitral to Islamabad. The flight crashed in Havelian, which is around 75 kilometers (45 miles) northwest of Islamabad.

A Pakistani plane reportedly carrying 47 people crashed Dec. 7 in the mountainous north of the country and burst into flames, police and aviation authorities said, AFP reported.
Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) Flight PK661 came down on a flight from the city of Chitral to Islamabad, the civil aviation authority said.

The national flag carrier confirmed in a statement that Flight PK-661 had lost contact with air traffic controllers on Dec. 7 afternoon.
