The second leg of the "Zinovia" weather front is expected to hit Greece throughout Monday, with the official forecast speaking of heavy snowfalls particularly in central Greece, including the northern suburbs of Athens.

Central, eastern Greece to feel the heat on Tuesday
Daytime temperatures in many parts of the country are expected to hit unseasonal highs of 30 degrees Celsius on Tuesday, with the warmest weather forecast in eastern parts of the country and the Aegean islands, the Hellenic National Meteorological Service (HNMS) said on Monday.
Athens to be spared worst of Okeanis weather front
Meteorologists said on Friday that the new cold weather system, dubbed Okeanis by the National Meteorological Service (EMY), forecast to sweep across the country will not be as harsh as initially thought, especially in Athens.
Nonetheless, they said that, after the recent unseasonably sunny weather, temperatures will drop by 12 to 14 Celsius over the weekend.

Municipal authorities providing respite from heat wave
The City of Athens and other municipal authorities around the country said on Tuesday that they will keep community centers and other air-conditioned facilities open all day as of Wednesday to offer citizens protection from the heat wave, for as long as it lasts.
